After doing all the things I needed to do that day, the boyfriend and I went home with nothing left to do but PACK!
We were off to Tenerife the next morning for a much needed get away and a glorious week in the sun. London was on it's last few days of sunshine, so travelling to a place that was 30 degrees, 800 miles closer to the equator was something we were both really looking forward too.
We had left packing quite literally to the last minute, so we were slightly panicking when it came to gathering the essentials, but miraculously, we managed not to forget ANYTHING this time, which is such an achievement. It's always the toothpaste, or the hairbrush, or the swimming trunks (Chaz).
We dropped off our Hamster, Hamlet, at Chaz's mums house and then set off on our one week adventure. I slept the entire journey in the car to the airport, (much to Chaz's disappointment) and felt quite refreshed once we arrived to Gatwick airport.
I absolutely adore airports. The whole vibe gets me so excited about the holiday. The beautiful smells coming from the duty free shops, and the Starbucks coffee that never quite tastes the same anywhere else apart from the airport.
It was finally time to leave, and, as usual, Chaz chivalrously offered me the window seat.
We landed in Tenerife at 18.30pm, but the sun was still shining and the heat of the Spanish island hit us like a warm hug. A very pleasant woman picked us up from the airport and guided us to our taxi driver, and our hotel was only a 15 minute drive away. When we arrived in our room, the first thing I always check is the balcony. To my delight, the balcony was still soaking in the sun, so before any unpacking or resting was done, I whipped out my bikini and bathed in the evening sunshine. Hunger hit the two of us eventually, so we showered and headed downstairs for our first Canarian meal. The first thing I ordered, of course, was a cocktail.
On day two, we took a stroll around the town by the beach. The sun was shining and the sound of the waves were crashing near us and it just furthered my belief that when I settle, it will be by the ocean.
One of the main attractions we visited this time was Loro Parque which is a zoo just outside Puerto de la Cruz. It originally began as a Parrot park, but now houses penguins, orcas, dolphins, tigers and more.
I had never seen Orcas or even dolphins in real life before, so it was an unforgettable experience.
We came back to the hotel and caught the last few rays of sunshine before dressing up and walking to a live music bar.

The next morning by the pool <3
I don't really know what day these pictures were taken on because it took me ages to write this post, but here are a few randoms :)
And these were taken on our last night in paradise (quite literally; our hotel was called 'Paradise)
And here we are at the airport, waiting to come back to reality. This was exactly what I needed after such an intense month of writing my dissertation and Tenerife never fails to lift my spirits.
Until next time Tenerife! x
